Hello Paper Bakery fans. Did you join us in our first sketch challenge? It was a blast and I’ve enjoyed seeing everyone’s take on it. Are you already having sketch withdrawals? Don’t worry cause the next one comes out next Monday. Make sure you stay tune for that *wink*
Speaking of sketches, today I wanna share with you a layout based off of the sketch….

I kept the linear lines and used an 11 x 8 1/2″ sized paper as my foundation. It seemed like there was a time when this size was all the rage and now I don’t see much people using it anymore. I wonder why?
Anyways in this page, I used a combo of squares and curved shapes to give the page a more interesting look. I kept the title in the middle and used some extra large letter stickers to make a bold statement with the title.
Here’s a couple of close ups…

Thanks for stopping by and Happy Halloween. If you’re looking to jumpstart your creativity today, why not grab a
Paper Bakery kit. Lots of fun products that will sure to inspire the creative in you.
Catch you guys later,
Grace

My sister and I went and picked pumpkins yesterday. Let me tell you, DO NOT WAIT until October 28th to pick pumpkins. They were pretty much the pumpkins no one wanted. However, we did find a few that were not too shabby.
We then came to my house to carve them. I love carving pumpkins!! I wanted to share my mad pumpkin carving skills
Here is one I found on Pinterest:
How awesome is this?!
Here’s another:
All I’ve got to say is SERIOUSLY?! Just SERIOUSLY?!? Who can even do that? LOL
What have you carved this year for Halloween?? Leave a link to your pumpkin carvings in the comments section… I’d LOVE to see them.
Hope everyone has a great Halloween weekend.

Happy Friday all Paper Bakery friends!!! Tina here, with a little bit of this and a little bit of that.
All week long, we have seen some awesome tips and techniques from the amazing Paper Bakery DT.
Connie shared some ideas on what to do with all of your scraps and how SCRAPS ROCK!
Amy showed us an AMAZING take on the SKETCH CHALLENGE this week (thank you Grace for such an awesome sketch).
And Sarah showed us yet another amazing take on the sketch~along with a few NOVEMBER SNEAKS.
To wrap up this week, I thought I’d share a little bit of this and a little bit of that, and how I used the tips and techniques from this week to create a project.
Just like the rest of us, I fell in love with Grace’s sketch this week. I love the use of the large spots for photos and/or journaling. I usually struggle with using sketches, (as they are originally designed), so instead, I will ‘take’ one part of the sketch and twist it into something new.
Using the sketch this week for inspiration, I decided to use the multi, semi-grid design (for the photos & journaling) and the large, rectangular title section for my ‘twist’. (okay, so I used two pieces, but who’s counting?)
Instead of the 6 photo/journaling blocks, I choose 4 for my layout. Instead of a large, rectangle section for a title I choose to use a piece of ribbon.
{sorry, but all pictures have been removed. This layout can be seen in the Jan 2012 issue of Scrapstreet.com}
For more inspiration, I really liked how Connie shared the idea of using ‘scraps’ on your layout to stretch your kit usage. For my layout, I cut thin strips of pattered paper (all from previous Paper Bakery kits) and layered them throughout my page.
A final technique, that I lifted from myself, is on the bottom of my layout. You know that little strip of paper that is on the bottom of each piece of paper? The piece of paper that is SUPPOSED to be cut-off??
Well, don’t cut it off – keep it!
Go against the grain,
Color outside the lines,
Run with scissors!!
I love the totally random look it provides to a layout and how it becomes completely unique to you.
Here is my finished layout. My Bucket List. (or at least part of my list)
and some close-ups….
I hope you have enjoyed all of the DT tips and techniques this week. Stay tuned for more amazing ideas and project inspiration!
Have a fantastic weekend!!
Tina

I hope everyone is getting tons of inspiration from the sketch challenge. And, I hope everyone is working on their own submission for the sketch challenge

Be creative with it: you can even use the sketch for a mini album page, card, and more!! Leave your submission with the link
HERE.
I know everyone has been on pins and needles about what the November kits will be. Well, I’ve done a layout using the November Add-On Kit Baby, It’s Cold Outside and the sketch created by Grace. So, here’s a little preview of what’s in store!!
I didn’t really change much of Grace’s sketch. I just use one photo and made the rest of the block little stories of their own.
And here’s a close up:
Below is a Sneak Peek of the Project Kit ‘Twas the Night Before Christmas!! Thanksgiving is soon upon us (Is it really that time already?!?!) and shortly after that it will be Christmas mayhem!! You definitely want to get this kit to kick-off your Christmas season. More sneaks to come….
If you are a new subscriber, make sure to Pre-Order your November kit(s) by emailing The Paper Bakery at sarah(dot)hill(at)gmail.com.
Make sure to sign up for Paper Bakery News to get sneaks and full reveals earlier (on the right hand side of the blog) and directly in your email. What’s better than that? Don’t you check your email everyday? I definitely do!
Happy Scrapping!!! Tune in tomorrow for an amazing post by Tina.
